Nicola Harris (00:00.12)
Gorgeous soul. Welcome back to another episode of the economy of soul. This truly is one of my most favorite things to do each week is to sit down and have a conversation with you to chat, to share all of the things that I am moving through and that my clients are moving through. And I wanted to start off today's episode with just a little bit of a life update because it's already almost the end of January and what is transpired this month.
is it feels so integral to what I teach in the world and also what I hope that you hear and listen and attune into so that you can then go and implement in your own life. And one of the things I knew moving into 2026 was that velocity was going to be an anchor point for me. And as someone whose nervous system often gets very overwhelmed very quickly when I have a million different things flying at me.
I knew that velocity was going to be one of the key things that I needed to understand in how to integrate and stay grounded as it was happening. And certainly January has not disappointed. I am not one of the shoot out of the gate of the year kind of gals. I am more a, it is winter, it is the season of winter. And in winter, I need a lot of time to go within, to listen, to really plant seeds for what I know.
the rest and the remainder of the year will bring. But this year felt incredibly different. And I know we talked about how we're moving from snake to year of the horse, but that doesn't happen until mid February. And so we're sort of still in this sort of, it's almost like a bridge between 2025, the energy of 2025, the energy of the snake and then moving it into
2026 and the year of the horse. However, in my own life, I was noticing a lot of pull towards really developing an anchor point in fast moving energy. And I knew that that was going to be a priority for my business and for my life in setting it up so that I could respond as a generator.
Nicola Harris (02:26.762)
and in human design, I love to respond to what's happening. And I needed to be able to respond in quickness, in making sure that I was really keeping up to the velocity in which life wanted to unfold for me.
And January is just not disappointed. It has been week over week. And sometimes like I almost forget the first week of January already because that feels like it was eons ago. And that's the thing about time. And when you begin to collapse it, when you talk about, know, people say all the time they're collapsing time. This is really what that means in terms of allowing life, the life force of what it is that you're creating and stepping into.
to really be at the forefront instead of the resistance to allowing that. And so I had to have a conversation with myself at the end of 2025 that really sounded like this. Things are going to pick up. You have been in a year of deep recalibration for this moment. So it is up to you to either get on board
or to stay where you are.
And of course I knew that even though the overwhelm and even though the busyness and the, it's actually not even busy, which is fascinating. It's just a lot of moving parts all at once. As that's happening, I knew that my body needed to find safety in that. I knew it needed to find stability, groundedness, to know that it was okay if something over here did not get done.
Nicola Harris (04:15.85)
if my house is a little bit more untidy than it normally is, or if, you know, we have to grab sushi on the way home, that those things were going to be okay in order to allow the velocity to remain in my life. And this month has moved very, very quickly in terms of decisions that I have made, plans that I've put in place, the following through of so many pieces.
you know, the venue has been secured. April 21st is when the book is going to launch, Behave Will Make Her Way Into the World, which I am so excited, like beyond about. She went off to the printers on Monday and that for me felt like such an incredibly pivotal moment of acceptance that it is no longer an option to not fully step into this version.
who is becoming to allow her to lead me to where it is that she desires to take me and to really allow the celebration of how big this is to be present in my life. Because how often do we just not stop and celebrate? How often do we not stop and celebrate? And this felt monumental. And I was just home.
by myself as I normally am during the day. And I was actually watching a recording of one of the trainings that I'm taking. And it felt surreal in many ways to know that right now something that I had spent years creating behind the scenes was now coming into form.
And I started my entrepreneurial journey as an event planner, for those of you who don't know some of my history. one of the most, it was almost like an awe-filled moment for me every time that I would be on, I would be wherever it was at the venue or on the land, wherever it was that we were creating this event. And I would just take a moment before,
Nicola Harris (06:36.202)
most people got there, would see have all my vendors and my contractors setting up. And I would acknowledge that everything that was being created, everything that was coming into form had come from my imagination.
It had come from my mind of saying, what if we did this? What if we put this and this together? And now the formulation of it on that day would actually come into view. And it was so incredible. And now that I, of course, no longer event plan, but I do work that is really sometimes not tangible, it really landed deeply for me.
when I got the notification that the book is at the printers, that I again have spent years formulating something, words on a page, ideas, thoughts, beliefs that were so integral to who I am. It is formulating into something physical that will sit on bookshelves, that will be in people's homes. Hopefully people will travel with it and read it on the airplane or when they're on vacation.
and that it will make an impact that I don't even really quite understand yet. And that moment felt so incredibly huge.
And all of these other things have been happening. A big launch party is happening with other speakers and sponsors and people who are excited about this work are coming on board and it just feels incredibly aligned in so many ways.
Nicola Harris (08:20.108)
And I was reflecting about what I really wanted to talk to you guys about today. none of this could have been possible. Everything that has happened with the book, but also in my business, with the work that I am doing, with the people that I'm meeting, the clients that I have, all of it has been made possible because I committed to making small
meaningful micro steps. And it's got to be like the most unsexy of all strategies, to be honest. We as a culture have like glorified this idea that we do big wins and we have like these incredible, you know, moments where it looks like we've moved mountains overnight. And some people may look at me
and think that. my gosh, she's written a book. No one knows, no one understands the years, the micro moments where you had to constantly choose yourself over the self doubt, over the limiting beliefs, over the scarcity of whether or not this is going to work out, over the disappointment.
over someone else telling you that you shouldn't be doing this, that this isn't a good idea. All of so much noise. So much noise. And the thing is that I, what I've realized so deeply is that I just don't believe that anyone who walks themselves towards their dreams hasn't had an incredible amount of noise to overcome.
both internal and external.
Nicola Harris (10:21.29)
internal and external. I believe that the internal is often louder than the external and I have been in some pretty terrible relationship settings.
but the internal noise of having to constantly choose to stay the course, to write one more paragraph, to go back to submit it.
Nicola Harris (10:49.838)
to put the thing out on social media, to build the container, the program, the product.
All of this takes thousands of little micro moves that end up moving mountains. Micro moves move mountains.
Nicola Harris (11:14.956)
And it's not sexy. It's not sexy to be like, I did this one thing off my to-do list. But that one thing off your to-do list is creating a cascade effect in your life that is allowing you to do so many other bigger things. And it's like a snowball, right? It starts off small, but then as the momentum builds, it starts to get bigger and bigger and bigger. And so all of a sudden the moves become bigger.
because you've built the capacity and because you have made all of those smaller moves first.
And so I want you to just reflect for a minute. I want you to pull your vision forward for a second because vision is something that I teach. doesn't matter what capacity you work with me in. Vision is going to be one of the foundational cornerstones of the work that we do together. Because if you do not know where you're going, it's really hard to lead yourself there. And I will tell you from experience,
I allowed my vision to often be impacted and influenced by other people and what their vision and what their hope was for me. And then I often found myself building things that didn't belong to me that I then had to either step out of or recreate or whatever. And so vision is so key. It's so key. So I want you to just pull your vision forward for a minute.
and really sit with it and allow the energy of it to really be felt in your body of what it is that you desire. It could be one small piece, it could be the whole entire big picture.
Nicola Harris (13:04.76)
but I want you to just really focus on that for a moment.
And often what stops us from believing that that's even possible is understanding the steps that it's gonna require to get us there. But those steps, once we start breaking them down into smaller chunks, become 100, 1000 % possible. And what happens in the micro,
is that we create and develop our nervous system to be able to hold more as we're building. So instead of us going from, you know, we are where we are right now, and then tomorrow morning, us waking up in our entirety of our vision, which would feel completely disjolting to our bodies, it would cause us to want to refrain and to go back.
which is exactly what our body does all the time. But what we're doing is if we're creating these habits of micro patterns, these habits of micro movements, every single day walking us towards the vision, the life that we desire, the work that we desire to do, what ends up happening is that we build courage, we build self-reliance, we build confidence, we build self-trust.
in all of these tiny little steps that to most people seem completely microscopic and as if they don't even matter.
Nicola Harris (14:46.828)
And I reflect a lot about the past year. And I'm not sure that another piece of my work is going to feel quite as monumental as this one does, mostly because this feels like...
the part of my story where I reclaimed myself, where I reclaimed my truth in its entirety, not in bits and pieces, which is what I had done prior.
But when you experience betrayal in your life and when you experience separation and almost an overnight, like what is the word I'm looking for? Almost like an overnight split in your life. Like just this concave of cascading impact that like
jolts you awake because you have no other choice because the trauma of it is so big.
You almost...
Nicola Harris (16:00.844)
lose yourself in it. You almost lose yourself in it because it's overwhelming and debilitating and it feels so huge.
And when I started writing Behave, it was 2021, the fall of 2021, and I was in one of the lowest places of my being, of my energy, of my life. And yet I could access this part of me that knew, it knew that this was just the beginning of something incredibly
amazing for me. I didn't know at that time if that was a life on my own with my kids or if that was a life with my husband as we tried to repair our marriage. I didn't know that at the time but what I knew was that I had to reclaim my truth that that was no longer an option for me to half reclaim it. A quarter I'll sprinkle it.
a little bit here and a little bit there, but I will not emerge.
out of my house every morning, I will not emerge out of bed in the morning without fully reclaiming that. And so this piece of work feels so monumental to that journey, to the journey of reclamation, to the journey of liberation.
Nicola Harris (17:41.484)
And I think back from the time that I started writing it until now and everything that has happened in between then and now. And all of it has been because I had this vision. I had this vision of who I was, who I knew myself to be.
and I consistently.
Nicola Harris (18:11.054)
through tiny, tiny little steps. Brought myself there.
Nicola Harris (18:18.07)
It was not overnight. I didn't wake up one morning and said, today's going to be the day that I claim, reclaim myself. Today's going to be the day that I liberate myself from all of the bullshit that exists in my body.
It wasn't one day. It wasn't even one moment. It was a bajillion little moments between me and myself that I chose over and over and over again to say, this is the life I want to live. This is who I want to be. This is the work I want to do in the world. And nothing is going to get in the way of that anymore.
Nicola Harris (18:59.382)
And it was in the micro that I found the miracle.
Nicola Harris (19:07.05)
I found the miracle of who I was. The miracle of what I am meant to do.
Nicola Harris (19:18.038)
And it's only been because I committed to each of these little tiny microscopic shifts.
And it doesn't mean that I was perfect in that. I could have collapsed time probably by a couple of years if I had just allowed myself to stay focused in that. But perfection is nothing I strive for over here. I strive for honesty. And sometimes the most honest thing for me to do was to not choose that. Sometimes I needed a break. Sometimes I needed to go backwards.
to go, a minute, I actually do want this. Or for me to try things on, know, try them on and be like, is this the truth of who I am? Or does this have to go?
but it was the journey of all of these little tiny micro steps.
that allowed me to land myself here.
Nicola Harris (20:30.934)
with now a velocity and a comfort of being in.
Nicola Harris (20:40.216)
the pace that my life is currently experiencing, which is far faster than anything I had previously experienced. But that wasn't because, that wasn't possible because I just woke up and decided, although that certainly is a part of the equation, we have to wake up and decide each day what it is that we want, what it is that we're willing to walk ourselves towards.
what it is that we're willing to get over.
and then allow those micro steps to shift me because every time I chose this, every time I chose the fullness, the truth of who I am, a miracle happened. Because in that shift, you change. You change in the shift, you change in the choosing, you change in the decision. And when you land,
in that place, when you land in the decision, in the choice, you're shifted, you're different, your perspective changes. And that's how we build the momentum to move forward. I have made more decisions in the last year that would have terrified the version of me that was two years ago. It would have terrified me to take up this much space.
to claim these parts of myself to remember, to remember what it is that I'm here to do and the parts of me that feel so expansive and serving in this way.
Nicola Harris (22:29.6)
It was in all of these little tiny shifts that all of a sudden I could land somewhere that felt so incredibly comfortable in being this person.
in saying I can invest in that wholeheartedly without any hesitation. I can be the person who writes books, who hosts retreats, who travels, who invests in retreats.
I can be someone who can do that because of all of these micro shifts I made along the way and the commitment to the vision and the truth of who I knew myself to be.
So I want you to look at your vision. I want you to just be so radically honest with where you're at right now and where you want to be. Nothing too small, too big, all of it important. If it feels resonant for you in your soul, then it's a part of your vision.
Nicola Harris (23:35.362)
And then you just look and say, what steps do I need to take? What small micro movements do I need to commit to in order to move mountains? In order for me to create miracles.
Your business is a reflection of your soul.
Nicola Harris (24:00.972)
Your business, your work, the work that you do in the world, it matters. And it has a desired impact.
And when we allow that to be the driving force of bumping up against our resistance of, of, you know, understanding what it is that we fear and the beliefs that we bring into our business every single day into our decision-making. When we allow that to be the thing that leads us.
the desired impact, the felt sense that you are on the right path.
I mean, I thought I was on the right path many times and I was because all of it, all of it has led me here. So I was on the right path, but.
The felt sense I have now is substantially different. There is a resonance that is so incredibly deep in how grounded and how sure I feel in everything that's moving around me.
Nicola Harris (25:16.268)
And that's when you know, that's when you begin to walk yourself into the vision. You take that vision board and you pull it into real life and all of a sudden you're looking around and you're going, holy shit, I'm here. I've arrived.
but we cannot get ourselves there if we cannot commit to the daily micro steps that it requires.
Moving your body when you don't feel like it. Emailing the person who feels a little stretchy to email. Little uncomfortable in reaching out. Maybe they're going to reject you. Maybe they're going to ignore you.
But to be the person who finds the courage, to be the person who develops the confidence, to be the person who knows that all of these small steps are the way you walk yourself.
Nicola Harris (26:19.158)
Okay, that's it for today. I wish you a beautiful week. There are so many exciting things going on in my world right now. If you are not caught up to date, I invite you to check them all out. The House of More, mm-mm-mm-mm. The House of More is proving to be even more delicious than I anticipated.
and the doors of that are open until the end of January, so you can hop in. It is a dollar a day. You guys, I don't know how every human being is not in this program. It is a dollar a day.
One dollar. And the work that these women are doing is truly unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. They are meeting themselves in ways that they have never met themselves. They are moving. They are moving in ways that they've never moved before. And I am so excited. It's only been three weeks and we've got a whole year together.
got a whole year together. And so what is going to shift in the house is truly, I don't even know. That's the thing. It's, it's limitless at this point where these women are going to walk themselves. And so if you feel pulled, please just say yes. If that is the only thing you say yes to this year, please let it be that because the house is where you are going to develop and retrain all of
the parts of ourselves that are really holding us back from really walking ourselves into the vision that we hold. I also have obviously the book launch coming up April 21st. We are having a party in my hometown of Chilliwack, British Columbia in Canada. It is going to be worth a flight for. So if you think that this is a place where you need to be, Behave isn't just a book. It truly is a movement around self leadership and how we guide ourselves.
Nicola Harris (28:22.646)
in our everyday moments. It is going to be a full night of just unbelievable celebration, joy and expansion. There are going to be other speakers. It's just going to be an absolute off the hook night. So mark your calendars, April 21st. If you can come, tickets will be on sale soon and I will share that with everyone. And I also have...
one of the most delicious, juicy offerings that I cannot wait for, which is the immersion in the southwest coast of France from May 18th to 21st that I'm co-hosting with my dear friend, Suzanne. And Suzanne and I have created, the experience of these four days together.
is going to change everything that you believe about yourself, your business and your possibility. First of all, with it being on the in the south of France is just unbelievable. We're right on the coast in the most beautiful little boutique hotel where the food is going to be just divine.
and we will be sitting together, really architecting out both our bodies and our businesses to be able to align it into exactly what we want. No holding back. We are going to have time to...
Really dive into each person's individual business, really mastermind on what that looks like, what you need support in, how that's going to work. Suzanne and I have a combined of over 40 years experience building businesses, small, big, medium, all of it. You will be in the best hands. And I'm just going to throw it out there that going to the South of France is now a complete business write off because everything that we are doing is going to support your business.
Nicola Harris (30:27.288)
So it's just an incredibly beautiful offering that is happening in May. So my world is just, it's just.
I want to say it's unreal, but at the same time, it's what's always meant to have been. And so I invite you to take out, you know, have a look, see if there's anything that really pulls you and just listen to that and say yes this year. Even if it's just a 2 % little pull of like, what's the possibility if I stepped into that? And I will of course be excited to see you in any capacity. So thank you so much for being here for this journey.
We're really only just getting started, you guys, and I am thrilled to have you along for the ride. Sending so much love. Have a beautiful week.
