Nicola Harris (00:02.146)
Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of The Economy of Soul. And today I feel like we really get to talk about the economy part of the soul. I am here with Janica Whitney, who is an absolute powerhouse. The first moment that I really like locked on and met eyes with her, I was like, damn, this woman is someone who everybody needs to know. She walks into a room and you just like
Feel her presence, and there is something that is uniquely profound about women who can just own that and own the work that they do. And Janica is just an absolute master at that. So she is a licensed holistic financial planner, and she is on a mission to help moms get rich and to raise rich children.
And I couldn't be more excited about your mission and what it is that you are bringing to the world and creating and building. So thank you so much for coming to join me here today.
Genicca Whitney (01:10.162)
Thank you so much. I'm just gonna receive that and really feel into it. Thank you for recognizing me in that way. I've done a lot of work to get to this point and I am truly just a mirror because I felt the same way about you when we first met. And yeah, I'm I'm really excited for this conversation and to
Nicola Harris (01:13.706)
Hmm.
Genicca Whitney (01:32.616)
help as many women really tap into the economy of their soul. I feel like your podcast is so aligned. And yeah, here to help moms raise rich kids. So thank you.
Nicola Harris (01:38.03)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Nicola Harris (01:43.232)
Yeah. I love it, I love it, love it. Okay, so let's start a little bit from the beginning so everyone can get to know you just a tad. Why don't you tell us a little bit about your journey and how this mission really came to be for you?
Genicca Whitney (01:56.691)
Thank you. Yeah. So I was reflecting on that as well because every now and then I ask myself, Am I aligned? Is this the right path for me? And I look back at all of the moments in my life where I've navigated, you know, finances and money trauma and this big desire that I have to change the world. And it really started when I got out of high school and all of my friends
Who were privileged enough to receive the opportunity to go to university or college. You know, I grew up with not very much. My immigrant parents came from the Philippines and we did not have very many savings. So I always felt very different and almost like I didn't feel enough, and that my path was going to look very different. So while everybody went to college or university,
I went straight to the newspaper. And at the time when there was ads in the newspaper, I decided I was going to get a sales job. And at the time, that's all the jobs that there were in the newspaper. It was all sales. So I took on a sales job with some retail experience. And I decided I was going to take on a 100% commission job at 18 years old, doing door-to-door sales, standing on the street corner of downtown Toronto. and
knocking on doors, going business to business, basically where anyone and everyone could be is where I was. And that's when I learned how to sell from thin air. And when I was mentored by millionaires who actually showed me exactly how to set goals and to design a vision board. So I was 18 years old and I learned about the law of attraction and the secret.
And I, you know, at the time, very open and I guess naive, I thought, well, whatever they're telling me is probably true. And I would set financial goals for myself. And every time I did that at that age, I I hit it. There was days where I was making $400 a day. then I was growing a team and I was making, you know, $1,000 a day. And eventually by 19 years old, I had enough money to put a down payment to buy my parents a brand new home.
Genicca Whitney (04:19.302)
out of the ghettos and into the suburbs. And at that point I realized wow, everything I I read about rich dad, poor dad, and all the things I learned about sales and this idea of being an entrepreneurship or an entrepreneur, it felt like anything was absolutely possible. And I doubled down. So I moved to Vancouver to open an office with the company. They opened they promoted me to
A Vancouver office where there was sales reps. And as soon as I got here, I fell in love with Vancouver and realized that I had outgrown the company. And I actually, at 19 years old, I started my own company doing very similar things. And since then have become a multi real estate investor and yeah, I've just been obsessed with transforming not only my own financial reality.
but I think at the core of it is helping my parents who did everything they could to get me into this country to experience new ways of being by helping them financially. And so, you know, I did that for a few years and had my company going. I sold it at twenty-four. And then when I had kids at twenty-nine, I decided to launch an online business and continue to
deepened my relationship with money, healed a lot more money wounds. And raising two kids under two in my first year of business, intentionally getting good with my finances, I made six figures in my first year of business online, selling courses and and digital programs. So I knew that I had a gift to turn nothing into something.
And when I learned how to turn my purpose into a profit and how to invest strategically, I became licensed in the last year. And now I help mothers become financially empowered, families understand how to build wealth, especially as immigrants, and how to dominate the tax system in a very simple way so that even your kids can understand. Because I think at the end of the day, we cannot be the blind leading the blind.
Genicca Whitney (06:37.968)
And in order for us to bring generational lack, we must lead ourselves and understand everything we never were never taught about money. And so, you know, I could go on for days about, you know, my passion around this topic, but it's truly the it's it's it's the core of why I do what I do. I I feel like the work that I do is to heal my inner child and to protect everyone else from having to go through what I went through as a child. and so here we are.
Nicola Harris (07:08.179)
Ugh, that's remarkable. And like Rich Dad, Poor Dad was one of the very first books that I read as well when I was probably about 18, 19 years old. I remember just being like, wow, because also came from not a lot. And, you know, my mom did the best that she could with what she had, but didn't really even have the education behind her, right? To to understand how to navigate money in a way that, you know.
multiplied it and allowed us to live in a different way. So I I love that. Thank you so much for sharing. It's it to me, it's always incredible how much our story impacts the work that we desire to do in the world. So was there a moment or was there a time where you're like, I really want to take this and I want to teach women how to do this? Like what was the
I guess like this this like piece that just was like, Ooh, I want every woman to know how to do this.
Genicca Whitney (08:06.084)
Yeah, thank you. So I have to say that it was around the time that I was in my marriage. And, you know, I think in any relationship there's always gonna be ups and downs and financial challenges that really do arise. And we were faced with financial challenges. My kids were small. my ex at the time was going through a little bit of a depression and I
was building my business in between that time and I decided I need to double down and, you know, find other ways to make money. And so I built brought in another income stream and built that to six figures and learned how to invest it for a rainy day. And then when things continued to crumble in my marriage, I I decided, okay, I need a totally different game plan. This isn't about paying the mortgage again. It's about actually
creating a freedom fund so that I can liberate myself and start a new life. And I think the mistake a lot of people make is that they blindly, you know, use their money and spend their money without really knowing where they're going to be in a year from now, three three years from now and five years from now. And when I realized that this was not an aligned marriage, I needed to get really good at understanding what my priorities are financially. Am I going to be investing
Because somebody on social media told me that this is going to be a high return, or do I need to build a freedom fund? And so I started my freedom fund two years before I left my marriage. And I was able to exit my marriage and take an entire year off to heal and to continue life financially empowered and also financially prepared for that new reality. And it
You know, after the healing, it came to me that I everything that I had been through was for me. You know, I think it's so easy. We've heard it before, it's all happening for me. But I think I think it's a wish when we realize how it's actually all for you. And in that moment, after all the healing, after everything that I had done to get myself to a place where I needed to be financially and all of the things that I learned and, you know, had success with, I decided
Genicca Whitney (10:25.245)
You know, I love to empower women, but what I love more than anything is to teach them how to become financially empowered so that they do not stay in relationships that are not healthy, so that they don't have to say no to their kids when they don't want to, and so that they can create more experiences for themselves and on a rainy day be able to say, Okay, well, I can just create money. I don't need this.
job to sustain me and maybe this one income stream is enough. and to to be able to create ways to make money, I feel like it was in those moments that I realized that my my true purpose here is to actually teach this and to help more families just really understand how to behave around money, how to feel around money and how to build wealth.
Nicola Harris (11:15.021)
That's powerful because you know, in my in my line of work with somatics and and really bridging that to business strategy and and again, really, really sitting at the intersection of liberation for women of hey, you know what? We get to decide. We get to we get to sit and feel, not not just believe what we've been told, but to actually sit within ourselves and say, we can do.
So many different things, so many different things. And I love that you tie money back to liberation and allowing ourselves to make decisions that maybe the generation before us didn't have access to. And I and I I mean I look at so many women and I think they may know that on like intellectual level, but they don't quite yet understand how to do that, they don't quite
Genicca Whitney (11:57.716)
Yeah. Yeah.
Nicola Harris (12:13.944)
Think, you know, I mean, we certainly don't all walk around thinking our marriages are going to implode. I mean, I certainly did not believe mine was going to, and then was faced with the same scenario of going, This is this is not actually where I do want to find myself anymore. But how can we prepare women for these moments that life may serve that they think are never maybe going to happen to them? But
really give them the foundation so that when they do hit, you know, it's not taking them out in a way that feels overwhelming or like it's limiting their options.
Genicca Whitney (12:55.315)
Yeah. Yeah. And I think it this happens to women, whether you're in a position where you want to, you know, create an income stream so that you can liberate yourself or maybe you're bringing in an ab you know, plethora of abundance and you're in a happy marriage and just being able to hold that level of wealth. I feel like there's been different times in my life where I've had to get resourceful because I didn't have enough or I had enough and I still was not able to
breakthrough to that next level. And one of the things that has worked for me, which is why I love your work, is the work that I've done internally, energetically and in my body to be able to navigate those transitions and those breakthroughs. And so, you know, there's certain exercises that I would do that go beyond affirmations, that would go beyond journaling. I think when you're creating new patterns, new when when you're when you're
getting into new levels of prosperity, you gotta create new patterns in your body for it, right? So I mean, one of my practices is really getting into the feeling of what it would be like to be the kind of woman who is making multiple six figures or getting into the feeling of what would it be to be the kind what would it feel like to be the kind of woman that is financially confident and prepared.
And and in control and very clear, right? What would it feel like to be her? And I think it's a practice, it's not something that happens overnight because we have years where we've programmed our bodies to behave a certain way around money. And the real work isn't a strategy, it's actually what we do in our bodies that really help us have those breakthroughs. so you know, moving of the body and
I I mean for me what really worked for me was you know tapping and and just getting certain getting certain energetic blocks out of the way and allowing myself to just really feel into that next level. I think when you're blocked in your body, it's hard to even feel into that wealthy woman that we all already are. And yeah, and also, you know what, surrounding myself around people that
Genicca Whitney (15:16.849)
That embody the kind of women that I wish to be and that are not only speaking the things that they want, but are actually creating and living the reality that I desire. Something happens when you are in close proximity with those type of people. And sometimes it looks like stepping back from people that are not like that and hanging out with people online, you know, especially during COVID and not being able to.
Be around people physically, which is when I think a lot of our boats were rocked. Having online connections, even today, just being around people that are are are speaking big numbers and that are unapologetic about how much money they're making. That's what made the difference for me. When I saw other women, you know, celebrate their big financial wins. I thought, why not me? And I think culturally, you know, we're made to be humble and we're told we need to, you know, not
gloat or have too much pride. and I think that's what keeps women small is that they think that they're bad when they are proud of what they have. But what I believe and my reframe around that is we cannot receive more than we're willing to celebrate. So if we're not celebrating what we have, how can we expect to attract more when we aren't even not even grateful, just acknowledging it. And and that's why playing small doesn't
Help our bank accounts. That's why living in these, you know, poverty paradigms only continues to attract more poverty. So it's shifting out of that culture and like you said, creating a new reality and being absolutely delusional and living in a world where there's literally money falling from the sky and multiple decimals in your bank account to really have reality catch up to where you want to be. And then eventually, before you know it, you're in the right circles, you're
attracting the right people and you are you know, actually taking time to look at your finances, which I think I think a lot of people are still resisting. But if you can start to embody the wealthy woman within, you'll start to release the resistance that you have around looking at your money.
Nicola Harris (17:30.63)
my gosh, that was like a mic drop right there, Tabika. And it's so true because it, yes, there are strategies, and we'll talk about that in a minute. But there it there's also so much internal work that needs to be moved through before we can really begin to anchor into that next level, that evolution, the being able to build capacity for more. And so
Genicca Whitney (17:32.703)
Well
Nicola Harris (17:58.777)
Thank you for for bringing that forward because I think a lot of women are still nervous with money. They I don't think we we don't have enough, you know. I think this data is like it was like 1974 when we could get our first bank account, right? So it's like that is not that's not a long runway of us holding and multiplying and moving money around in a system that still often doesn't recognize our work on an equal level. And so
I I think it's so important of doing both obviously the internal and the external work to be able to create the reality that you desire so deeply. So let's let's speak to the woman for a second who maybe isn't quite confident. She's unsure. Maybe she's feeling like I I I don't exactly know what my next step is.
Like where does she start? Where would be the best place for her to really begin to develop that confidence?
Genicca Whitney (19:03.048)
Yeah, so in relation to money and maybe like a financial upgrade or breakthrough. Yeah, I I mean I can only speak for my process and I actually was just doing this the other day when I was working on redesigning and sort of revisiting my vision board because I created one at the beginning of the year and now I'm like, okay, time to time to update it because a lot of things have happened and
Nicola Harris (19:06.318)
Mm-hmm.
Genicca Whitney (19:30.536)
I feel like a good place to start is really to just be able to imagine yourself in a whole new reality. you know, they say imagination is is the portal. And if you can imagine it, you can create it. And I think it's so simple to say that, but a lot of us are not giving ourselves permission to be the kind of woman that we want to be. And the reason for that is because we have a lot of stories about why we can't, right? So if you can.
If you didn't know if you didn't need to know how and if anything was absolutely possible, what kind of a woman would you be? So the first thing I would do is invite, you know, people to just imagine and it and and and you know, going on Pinterest and downloading photos helps. And what I've actually been doing is downloading photos on Pinterest, going to Chad GPT and adding my face in all of those photos.
So it's like, my God, look at me in this beautiful mansion with these beautiful cars. You know what I mean? And and just being able to tap into what that would look like. And you know, to take it to that next level for, you know, moms maybe who are listening to this and they work from home or they are working at in the evening when kids are more settled. I feel like our state of being is really important. So
Working from home when I was building my business, I would put on an outfit that really made me feel alive and that would allow me to tap into that version of myself. so even today I'm in this office and I don't have to be in this office for the rest of the day. I could go home to do it, but there's something about being in the energy and you know, wearing the blazer that shifts the state and point of attraction. You actually start to download and receive more.
intuitive nudges around how when you can fully just allow yourself to be the woman that you want to be. And then yeah, and then invest in yourself. I so we don't know what we don't know, right? So, you know, we can watch all the YouTube videos and try to piece all the puzzles and take inspiration from different people, but that can be overwhelming and then it can be paralyzing as well. So every level will require a new version of you. So
Genicca Whitney (21:51.275)
When you know where you're blocked, the best thing to do is to hire somebody to help you move through it. Invest in that particular area of your business or your being, and you will collapse time because you're not spinning your wheels, doing the same thing over again for a different result. You're like, yes, I'm aware that this is something within me. I need to create more capacity. So yes, I I need to reach out to somebody who can create.
help me create more of that. Or you know what? I want to actually, I want to spend my money with more intention. I want to start building generational wealth. And I'm tired of just throwing my money away blindly. Well, what does that what does that require you to do? Well requires to bring someone in who can show you what you don't know. So that for me has been the most that's like my secret weapon is leverage. And
and and and and using other people's expertise to get to my next level. And I think that it takes a level of courage, a level of curiosity, humility, and and and risk taking to to get to that next level. But if you if you're if you're if you're confident in if you're confident in what you're worthy of receiving, then you you know that all those investments are gonna pay off. But you only create
Nicola Harris (23:12.971)
Mm-hmm.
Genicca Whitney (23:13.672)
confidence when you're courageous first. So you gotta s you gotta start with being courageous and then confidence will come.
Nicola Harris (23:19.546)
So many people think it's the other way around, right? Like when I'm confident, I can take the risks. When I'm if I'm confident, I can I can lean into my courage. And it's like, no, girl, that's how we build the confidence. That's how we build that, right? By like being in the trenches and figuring it out and knowing that we can figure it out. And that, you know, and so it's yeah, I love that. I love that so much. So thank you for sharing that.
Genicca Whitney (23:22.206)
Yeah, yeah it's
Nicola Harris (23:47.259)
I want to talk a little bit about claiming richness for ourselves. Because I what I see a lot in my work is women who absolutely say they want.
But they are afraid of really claiming what that looks like for them. And I feel like they're like, you know, I want peace. I want freedom. I want, you know, but I want you to tell me like what that actually means. Like, what does that really mean? And a lot of the time I think they feel nervous about saying out loud, I want generational wealth. I want to create generational wealth. I want to create money that.
Allows me to have these big, beautiful life experiences. But I feel like you do that. I feel like you are like, I got that dialed. I I am good with claiming that for myself. Was there anything that you needed to really look at internally to help you get to that place where you could really fully claim it?
Genicca Whitney (24:57.482)
Thank you. Yes. Actually, this has been the biggest work of my life because I've self sabotaged multiple times. even on the journey of building wealth. And I didn't realize how much shame I carried around money until until I hit a what's that word? You know, you hit like this threshold where you can't really you're not like progressing, it's kind of just stagnant.
And for me, it was having shame around having money when maybe people around me weren't as, you know, well off, right? What are people going to think about me? And how am I gonna relate to people anymore when I'm at this new income level? And so as much as we want something, there's a fear of what it what we're going to lose. And the reality that
In order to get to the next level, not everything can come, right? So that shame needs to go. maybe certain people, even family members, we need to spend less time with. maybe it requires us to make investments that we might not want to make and it's part of the process, but we are not claiming it because we're afraid to make those investments. I feel like we are.
stuck financially because of the fear of what we are going to lose. And I think if we stop fearing what we might lose and start embracing what we'll gain, we'll start to we'll start to dance with the fear a little bit more, you know? And I think what we need to do is give ourselves permission to is to trust that that next financial level is going to cr come with even more incredible people.
even more incredible experiences instead of focusing on what we might lose. And for me, there was a point too where I thought I really want to make millions and build generational wealth, but unconsciously through hiring coaches and through my own healing, I realized that there was actually an unconscious part of me that didn't want it. And the reason why is because I thought it might take away from my kids, right? How can I claim something?
Genicca Whitney (27:17.311)
when I have a belief that if I get rich, I'm not gonna be able to spend time with my kids. Right? So so I'm rejecting wealth by not claiming it and by fearing it because of what might happen. And that for me was the biggest breakthrough. As soon as I as soon as I realized that I'm not a bad mom if I'm if I lock myself in the room and get work done. it that's when I started to
change my financial reality and I could do it with less guilt, I could do it with less shame, and things just started to compound on itself. So the question is like what are you afraid of losing? And what do you get to have beyond what you're going to lose?
Nicola Harris (28:02.806)
Hmm, that's so good. That's so good. I teach something very similar that the body always gets what it wants. And so the body, even though again, like you say you want these things, and intellectually we have focused so much on, well, I want to make seven figures, I want this car, I want.
I want, I want, I want. And we're very comfortable there as a society. We can we can anchor into that, we can throw that, we can cast that out. But the part that we often forget about is bridging that between the unconscious and what our nervous system is really leading us to. And if we lead with the fact that we know that our bodies always get what we want and we are watching ourselves in a pattern of repetition, it just means that we are getting something from that, right?
We are gaining. You are gaining time with your children in your mind. Your nervous system is like, I'm gaining time with my children. And if I make millions, I'm gonna lose that. So I think that's such a beautiful perspective. I work a lot with understanding and rewiring that path. You know, it it applies to all areas of our business. In we want freedom. Well, freedom can look like financial freedom, and freedom can look like an empty calendar.
Our body is still getting the same thing. And so it's it's really understanding that. So I I love that so much. So what are you really afraid to lose? I I think that that's such an important part of this conversation. And money is one of the most activating, like it's it's an entity almost in our life. And the way that it shows up, in the way that it it does fuel so much shame for us and fuels.
Genicca Whitney (29:27.615)
Yeah, so triple.
Nicola Harris (29:55.265)
staying small and it feels like it feels so many of these things. So I think that's such an important piece to really lean into. And I love how you can claim that for yourself because your girls are gonna watch that. Your girls are gonna watch you really embody that identity and say that and claim that for yourself. And they are in going to inherit that right
Genicca Whitney (30:19.381)
That's it. That's it. There's so much that's it. That's that's what raising rich kids is all about. and I talk a lot about in my podcast is in order to raise rich kids, we get to raise ourselves in a way that we were never raised. And that's, you know, it's one thing to want money, but I invite everyone to think about how their desire to understand money and how to
how to align with it energetically and in their bodies and how to actually do the you know logical, practical things, how that doesn't just impact their bottom line, but how they can pass on that knowledge and those tools to their kids. And so there's just a bigger picture. And I think when we zoom out and really see how this work can transform our generations to come like in in actual reality.
then I think we'll commit to the work even more. And that's you know, that's why I love your work because it really does begin, you know, on the inside, right? Building wealth is an inside job. And everything else after that is just a cherry on the top. So yeah, I love this conversation.
Nicola Harris (31:34.517)
Yeah, so good, so good. Okay, let's talk a little bit about raising rich kids. Because I I mean I've been on the online space for a really long time. Like I I feel like I'm back, I think I took my first online course in 2012. Like this was it was a it was the OG. So but I don't see a lot of people, and maybe it's the spaces I'm in, I'm not sure, but I don't see a lot.
Genicca Whitney (31:41.152)
Yeah.
Genicca Whitney (31:55.382)
Yeah.
Nicola Harris (32:02.33)
Of women talking about raising raising rich kids. I hear a lot about us creating generational wealth for ourselves, about us, you know, moving the dial forward on our businesses, about wanting to create, you know, that beautiful foundation for our lives. But I love that you integrate the passing of the torch before they need it.
Genicca Whitney (32:05.525)
Yeah.
Nicola Harris (32:28.546)
You know, it's like I saw your girls out there at the event that you hosted last month and and they're out there building their own businesses and they're, you know, and you can see the energy that it's creating within them. And so I wanna talk a little bit about that and what is your goal and what in that mission of really wanting to raise rich kids.
Genicca Whitney (32:48.671)
Yeah, I mean it's interesting because, you know, raising rich kids has a lot to do with becoming a more financially empowered leader. Because if we're not aware of the way that we're being, behaving, speaking about money, our kids are going to inherit those things. And I feel like
Sometimes women will not claim what they want for themselves, but they will put their kids forward. And so the whole idea is, you know, if you don't want to raise kids that are suffering in the economy in the next few years because they can't get a job, if you don't want your kids to be drowning in debt and knocking on your door asking to borrow money from you in the next five, ten years.
Then what do we need to do to empower them today to understand how to have a healthy relationship with money? And so, you know, my goal is to bring the awareness back to the parents and to help them understand how to talk to their kids about money. What kind of conversations do they get to have with their kids about money? What do they need to do and model as parents in order for them to teach their kids about money?
Right, because they are watching what we do, they are watching the way that we talk and behave around money. When the bills come in, are we freaking out? Are we hiding them? Are we overwhelmed? Are we stressed? Are we yelling at our kids because of the financial stress? And I know this because my parents were stressed. And guess who experienced it the most? Me. Right. And so I
Was lucky enough to be in an environment where I was 18 and and millionaires took the time to mentor me. My parents didn't do that. And so we need to be the mentors that our kids need today. Because in a few years from now, with AI taking over and the economy and the job losses that are undeniably everywhere, right? The question is: what are we doing today to make sure that our kids are financially positioned?
Genicca Whitney (35:08.779)
protected and prepared for what is inevitable. And beyond that, how are we teaching our kids the things that we didn't learn when we were when we were growing up that are impacting adults today? Adults that are in debt, that still don't know how to use a credit card, that know n and nothing about TFSAs, that for me is a scary place to be because I know what it's like when families and and and and finances become
become chaotic and that is not a healthy place to be. It's it's it's one of the number it's one of the reasons why families, you know, separate because of financial stress. And so there's just so many, so many reasons why being conscious about how we raise our kids about money is is so important. And that's why I decided to start a podcast so that I can walk parents through step by step what they need to know.
in order to yeah, in order to to raise kids who are not afraid to create money beyond a nine to five, who understand what to do with money beyond spending it, right? and how to set their kids up financially so that they're not you know, 18 and have no college or university fund available to them like I did. So like I said, it's
It's everything that I wish that my parents did for me that I'm now helping other families do for their own kids.
Nicola Harris (36:39.624)
I I just think that's so incredibly powerful. And the more that we can empower them as youth, as children, in in just understanding, I think it's it's just a tool that they get to develop and use for the rest of their life. Like it really is life giving, right? In so many ways. So I cannot wait. Yeah.
Genicca Whitney (36:56.467)
It's life saving. Yeah. Yeah. And there's yeah. There's there's even I mean, like, I could just go on, like there's women in relationships right now that can't get out because they don't know anything about finances and how to make money. Like that is a scary place to be. There's so you know, there's like, you know, when you you think about kids growing up and kids resorting to selling drugs.
it's because they want to make money but they don't know how. Right? Kids kids breaking into other homes. Like there's so many reasons why we need to teach kids how to be resourceful and how to handle money so that they can grow up as adults who aren't reliant or dependent on anyone but their own abilities.
Nicola Harris (37:48.645)
I think that's so incredibly powerful. And I hope you know, I hope you know how important that work is. And as I said, I just don't see a lot of I don't see a lot of it out there. So I think it's so beautiful that you are intersecting the two and allowing the moms to be sort of the conduit of that conversation in as they are building wealth, that they then get to pass that down, right? As as their inheritance.
Genicca Whitney (38:15.945)
Yeah, I think ultimately that's it. Ultimately that we want we want what's best for our kids. But we we we're we're putting them in a system that doesn't nurture the fundamentals of life. So yeah, so I I just look at all the gaps and I try to fill them and do the very best as I can. And yeah, and and you know, I'm just a mother on a mission, just inviting other mothers to to to be with me. So I appreciate you just
Nicola Harris (38:40.054)
Yeah.
Genicca Whitney (38:43.615)
all of your support and and and having this conversation with me.
Nicola Harris (38:46.966)
Yeah, absolutely. Okay. Let's tell everyone how and where they can find you to work with you. In what capacity does that look like? Because I I think whoever comes into your world is going to be just impacted in the most beautiful way.
Genicca Whitney (39:03.041)
Thank you. Yeah, so I I share a lot of valuable content that break down what financial planning looks like and just understanding the Canadian financial system from tax strategies to RESPs, TFSAs, RRSPs, and as an entrepreneur, things that you want to be aware of financially. So that's on Instagram at Janika.com.
And I also have the Raise Rich Kids podcast on Apple or Spotify or wherever you tune in. And I am also and I also have my website where people can learn more about how I work with clients privately. A lot of clients will come to me and they'll say, Junique, I need a financial game plan. I need to be making more money online and then I need to invest that money. So I work privately with clients, all things related to becoming financially empowered. And so we do identity work.
we do all things to help with a financial breakthrough. So I'm all over social media.
Nicola Harris (40:04.456)
Amazing. I will make sure to link everything in the show notes. So please go follow Janica. I I follow the rich kids podcast. I I just think that there is something there for all of us to learn, especially as as women, as mothers who really are here to impact the world in the most beautiful way that we are meant to. And honestly, we all need to get right with money. I think that that is the foundation. And
The narrative that we're doing this just for the impact is like to me, no, we need to, we need to absolutely be in right relationship with our money so that we can impact our worlds in the way that we're meant to. So thank you. Yeah, thank you for prefacing this conversation and for doing the work that you do. please go follow Janica along with her incredible journey as she really builds up this mom's on a mission and
Genicca Whitney (40:47.211)

I gotta, I gotta start raising rich kids, man. I got three and they're starting to get old. And I I feel like I I'm not gonna tell myself I'm behind the eight ball, but I definitely have some some catching up to do for sure about getting them really in tune to how they can create a thriving life for themselves, which is really what this is all about. So yeah.
Genicca Whitney (41:05.823)
Yeah. Thank you for
